We finally broke down and bought this now that we have enough counter space in our new condo. So glad we did. We used it for the Thanksgiving meal preparations, including: pumpkin roll, pumpkin pie mix, mashed potatoes, and green bean casserole. After needing only a minor upward adjustment to the bowl (easy to do with a flat head screwdriver), it worked perfectly. The whisk made quick work of the potatoes and produced the lightest, fluffiest mashed potatoes we've ever had. The beater blade did an excellent job on the green bean casserole, mixing everything perfectly without damaging the beans or onions. We will use it to make some tougher mixes over Christmas, including some pretty stiff cookie and bread doughs, but based on what we've seen so far, it'll be a joy.
How did we live this long without it?

I've had this product for about 3 weeks now. I've made three batches of whole wheat bread, one batch of cookies, two batches of banana bread, 4 pumpkin pie fillings and two batches of pie crust. This is a refurbished unit, it came with a dent in the top, but other than that it seems to work just fine. The bowl was a little tricky to press into place properly, my husband, who had owned one before had to show me how to do it, but I've got the hang of it now and it isn't that big of a deal. I store this in a lower cabinet and put it on the countertop only when I use it, just because I don't have tons of counter space. I'd guess it weighs about 10 lbs or so . . .I'm in my 50's and reasonably fit . . .it really isn't much trouble to pick it up and put it on the counter whenever I need it. An older or more frail person would probably choose to just keep it on the counter. My wide batter beater doesn't always mix things completely on it's own, so I'll lower the bowl once or twice (turning off the motor first) and scrape the bowl edges with a spatula and that does a fine job.

I bought this for my boyfriend for his birthday. He absolutely loves it. He makes a lot of breads and dough. Our previous mixer could not handle thick dough like bread. This one does great, and looks nice too!

I requested my fiancé that I must have this mixer on my birthday. Right decision it was! I had a wedding catering order immediately after that, had to make 180 cupcakes(3 different flavored cake, 2 types of icing). This appliance made my job so much easier and faster. Also made my first challah bread using the dough hook, turned out beautifully. My kitchen will no longer function without it.

I make a ton of cookies, and while my Artisan did the job it took a little longer. I am now able to make double batches without making a mess all over the place. I was able to quickly throw together chocolate chip cookies the night I received my mixer. I was happy that I could control from a stir to hard mix.
I now have two mixers that I can use for cookies, frosting and fillings. I am excited for holiday baking this year.

The mixer is amazing. This review is about KitchenAid's online ordering policy.
Found a great deal on a 6qt Kitchenaid Mixer. Placed the order, and the evening before I expected to receive it I received an email informing me that my order had been cancelled. On follow up phone call the next day I was told that the order had been cancelled because my shipping address was different from my billing address, and then that they wouldn't lift the block on my card because my billing address is a UPS Store! Wake up KitchenAid! This is a fairly common practice. People do this so often that most e-commerce sites, yours included, have a check mark for this. And yes, my billing address is a UPS Store mailbox. That does not make it a fraudulent address!

I purchased the refurbished Pro 600 series 6 quart bowl-lift stand mixer for my wife and she loves it. We also purchased the grinder with this and just finished processing a deer, worked great and we both love the grinder. The mixer did a great job and would buy again. We recommend this mixer!

Bought this directly from the kitchenaid.com site, along with the smaller bowl and whisk. Very, very happy with the performance of both. Have made cookies, waffles, and pancakes thus far. No issues with performance, definitely pleased with the sturdy-ness and versatility of this unit. Future plans are Christmas cookies and other holiday baked goodies like cakes and plum pudding. Hoping to add attachments for slicing and juicing to make my own soups and salads during the holidays.

I bought this a few weeks ago, I've used it around 5 times so far to make bread. It works great so far. This model is quite a bit louder than the classic but it kneads bread so much better than the classic. I'm loving this so far, I hope it holds up considering it's a refurbished model. The bowl is a little difficult to pop into place but it's nothing too difficult. The bowl is a 6qt it can fit quite a bit of batter or dough, which I love.

I bake decorated sugar cookies in large batches and this mixer makes it so easy! Was using a smaller KitchenAid 5 qt mixer - which I have been using for 38 years & still love- it will be going to my DIL- but for my purposes the

I bought this mixer for myself at Christmas but didn't get to use it until Easter. So fun and so easy to clean up afterwards. I especially love creaming with the paddle and the six qt bowl let's me do the entire batch of potato chip cookies all at once. No more hand mixers for me. Thank you kitchenaid.

The first one I got didn't work properly slipping gears and motor sounded worn out when you put cookie dough into it, the replacement process was super fast and delivered right to my door and even picked up old model at my door. The new one sounds great.

I bought this just over a month ago to handle our high volume of pizza making. I'm able to make 5 large and 1 deep dish crust in one go, which has made my life a lot simpler. I dislike that the 3 tools it comes with are burnished metal because I can't put them through the dishwasher like I want. I also hate that the little black handle cover keeps falling off the speed switch quite easily. I've had to pick it out of my food! I'm not sure how to get it to stay on. The machine also makes a weird noise when I use it that my older, smaller Kitchen Aid didn't, but I'm not sure if that's a problem or just the sound of a bigger motor since it appears to work fine.
